Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings that restore cavities quietly and comfortably, usually in a single visit.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

When a cavity is caught early, a filling is a quick, conservative way to restore the tooth and stop decay from spreading. We use tooth-colored composite fillings that blend in naturally with your smile.

What to expect

  • A gentle numbing of the area so you stay comfortable
  • Removal of the decayed portion of the tooth
  • Layered placement of tooth-colored composite
  • Shaping and polishing so your bite feels right

Most fillings are completed in a single visit. We'll always walk you through what we see on the X-rays and intraoral photos before we recommend treatment.

If you're nervous

Tell us. We'll go slow, check in often, and make sure you're numb before we start. There's no rush.

Common questions

  • Will I feel anything during a filling?

You shouldn't feel pain. We use a gentle local anesthetic to numb the area and we always wait until you're fully numb before we start. You may feel some pressure or vibration, but if anything is uncomfortable, just raise your hand and we'll pause.
